COVID-19: Practice Prevention

โ€œAn ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.โ€
– Benjamin Franklin –

We find ourselves in some strange time today, mostly feeling overwhelmed & in disbelief that a simple virus can cause our entire existence to be turned upside down.

As a Wellness Expert, I am always on the lookout to see where I can serve my fellow human beings to the best of my ability; according to the times we find ourselves in.

Today it is most important to become vigilant with Preventative actions to avoid being infected by the Corona Virus, at least until it has lost much of its potency. Because lets face reality, we will all have to get the virus at some point to build immunity to it.

Practice PREVENTION

Avoid getting sick by:

1. Practicing meticulous hygiene!
Practicing meticulous hygiene! Be aware that your hands can carry germs & pathogens collected from surfaces. Touching your face/eyes/nose is a sure way to get this virus or any other.

  • Also practice social distancing and avoid hugging, kissing on the cheek or shaking hands at these times.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water as soon as you touch surfaces such as door knobs, mobile devices, laptops, lamp switches, steering wheels, your keys ..etc. Antibacterial wipes and gels are not as beneficial as you think, because they also destroy healthy bacteria on your skin which work as the 1st line of defense for your body.

2. Taking supplements
Take supplements which are absolutely crucial to maintaining your strong immune* system:

  • Vitamin C (must be from a plant base such ad Acerola cherries, ascorbic acid is not vitamin C!!!)
  • Zink Picolinate
  • Selenium
  • Probiotics
  • vitamin D3 in liquid form

Contact me if you wish to find a reliable provider for your supplements in the Netherlands & in Europe.\

*These supplements are also highly effective for recovering from the Corona Virus or any other!

3. Green vegetables
Eat plenty of Green vegetable rich in chlorophyl which will support your immune system with the necessary Phytonutrients, providing your body cells with a powerhouse of energy. Vegetables such as Fennel, celery, spinach, Kale, cucumbers & fresh herbs such as coriander, parsley, chervil, chives, dill & mint have powerful antiviral properties.

Vegetable rich in sulphuric compounds (onions & Garlic) & Quercetin rich vegetables as well as fruit are highly advisable for their antiviral properties.

4. Restful sleep & de-stressing!
Get plenty of restful sleep & monitor your sleep hygiene to ensure adequate support for your immune system ( If you are curious about sleep hygiene please reach-out to me for a program that I have written on this topic.)

Practice Mindfulness & meditation, yoga, Tai chi or any other relaxation technique to lower your stress levels. When you are under emotional/mental stress your body will redirect vital blood flow from your immune system & send it to the extremities to help you Fight/freeze/flight. This causes release of Cortisol (#1 inflammatory hormone). This in acute instances doesnโ€™t cause any damage to your immune system. However prolonged panic & stress pushes the body into overdrive & wipe out the adrenal gland causing fatigue as well as diminish the immune system you so hardly need to rely on.

Prevent spreading

PREVENT SPREADING THE VIRUS:

1. Stay quarantined!
Stay quarantined if you are symptomatic & if coughing in particular. Your cough helps the virus travel at 50 miles an hour & wearing a mask is an absolutely pointless preventative act.

2. Even if you are not symptomatic, stay quarantined!
Even if you are not symptomatic, be aware that you may have the virus. Your body maybe dealing with this virus very well & coping optimally, yet you can be a carrier of the virus & infect those around you who may have a compromised immune system.

3. Take the mandatory social distance
Take the mandatory social distance and help our Medical system by not contributing to the already existing wildfire caused by COVID-19.

The tips I have shared with you do not solely apply to these chronically intrigued times.
We must all learn to apply these preventative tips at all times.

This is not the first time we have been in a pandemic & there will be other viruses coming our way at some point. This is just a reality.

However, if we take our health and safety into our own hands by Living healthfully & preventing the diminishing of our beautiful immune systems, there is never a reason to โ€œbleed in war because we have already sweat in peace.โ€
